White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki has said that there is no doubt that Dr. Fauci is precious to us.
However, the question is being raised by Dr Fauchi's mail whether he supported China when China was dismissing the possibility of the corona virus leaking from a lab in Wuhan.
The Washington Post newspaper, Buzzfeed News and US broadcaster CNN have received thousands of personal emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci between January and June 2000 under the Freedom of Information Act. These mails are on their conversation about the corona virus.
In April last year, an official of an organization related to health affairs publicly thanked Dr Fauci by sending an email for rejecting the lab-leak theory on scientific grounds.
In an interview with CNN, Dr Fauci said that critics are looking for another reference to the mail. He said that he was thinking with an open mind about the origin of the virus.
In defense of Dr. Fauci, Jane Psaki said in her daily press briefing on Thursday, "The President and the administration recognize that Dr. Fauci has played a brilliant role in bringing the epidemic under control and becoming the voice of the people during the pandemic."
There is no evidence of Kovid-19 coming from any lab, but US President Joe Biden has ordered an investigation in this matter. China is very angry with his move, which has so far denied this theory.
Chinese officials linked the initial cases of Kovid-19 to the sea creatures market in Wuhan. On this basis, scientists speculated that this virus has spread to humans through animals in this market.
But, recently, US media reports have indicated that evidence is being received in favor of the theory of this virus coming out of Wuhan's lab. According to them, this leak was probably an accident.
What did Fauchi say to CNN?
On Thursday, Dr Fauchi said that there was nothing wrong with an email conversation between the officials of the health sector non-profit organization that funded research at the Wuhan-based Disease Institute and them. Wuhan in China is the same city where the first case of corona virus infection was reported.
The US public health agency NIH provided a $6 million grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology through the Eco-Health Alliance, a New York-based non-profit organization, between 2014 and 2019. Its purpose was to research the corona virus of bats.
Peter Daszak, head of the Eco-Health Alliance, sent an email to Dr Fauci in April 2020. In this, he praised Dr Fauci for rejecting the lab-leak theory and called him 'brave'.
Speaking to CNN on Thursday, Dr Fauchi said that it is "stupid" to find any links between his Wuhan Lab Research official based on the email.
He said, "You can misinterpret it as you like. In that email, a person is thanking me for understanding my words in his own way and I said that this virus can be spread from one species to another I believe this even today, but while believing this, I am thinking with an open mind about the theory of this virus leaking from the lab.
Dr Fauchi said, "I find the idea very exaggerated that the Chinese deliberately created a virus that could kill the rest of the people as well as their own people. I think this is too much."
An assistant at the US National Institutes of Health and an expert on infectious diseases says that Dr Fauchi's messages reflect how a dedicated person of the public was engaged in his work during the once-in-a-century pandemic.
However, conservative critics believe that Doctor Fauci may be involved in a swag. He even claims that Dr Fauchi had taken a false oath while giving a statement before the Congress.
